Sometimes we take stupid things for granted especially things that happen online and it appears we don't have any control over it, like this for example: In many websites and especially here in the internet, every time we try to leave someone a comment or an add we get this: Security Measure: The image with the crazy letters is called a Captcha and it's used to figure out if you're a person or a computer.Filling out the Captcha helps us to stop spammers and phishers on the internet. In the beginning I thought well, it's for a good cause, it prevents spam, we all suffered from it in a form of zillion bulletins, weird messages from fake profiles and not to mention the profile hacks, you clicked on a link and kaboom, say bye bye to uncle Tom.I agree most of the viral diseases we had are gone or almost gone but now it looks likes it's the new fashion of the internet.now, I understand that spamming is a major problem but if the internet companies can't deal with it why they move the ball to our side?it's like they say "We are sorry, we can't deal with all the spamming here, now you have to write this stupid letters/combination every time you want to do something, and we call it CAPTCHA!"Do we have any idea how much time the human race is spending all together just to try to solve CAPTCHA? |
