I've had a the internet account a few years - and have debated on here for good while now... and I finally managed to get blocked (not that I try to, mind you). For what? For disagreeing with someone when they pegged homosexuals as abnormal. My argument: Homosexuality naturally occurs; meaning, there is a statistical probability that a certain number of our population will engage in homosexual behavior and have that means of sexuality as a preference.?Thus, to peg it as "abnormal" is an ill placed stigma."Normal" and "abnormal" have no application with issue of homosexuality or heterosexuality. They are states of sexuality, period. You are no more "normal" because you engage in a relationship with someone of the oposite sex than one of the same sex.Historically, they've always occured, and it is reasonable to assume that they likely always will in kind.I've found that the label "abnormal" is tagged onto people in an attempt to slyly [transparently] belittle and push moral guilt. It becomes a issue of belief, and ceases to be an issue of normality.... and when those lines blur, people get their painties in a wad.Of course, the issue of?"If that's normal, then so is rape!"?comes into play. And I think this is where a lot won't agree with me -- but yea, in the sense that it occurs pretty consistently, it's a natural human phenomena. That, however, does NOT follow that it should be legal.Just as homicide, pedophilia, bestiality, etc. shouldn't be legal -- for one sole reason: one includes suffering, whereas homosexuality does not.

Just as homicide, pedophilia, bestiality, etc. shouldn't be legal -- for one sole reason: one includes suffering, whereas homosexuality does not. There is no "victim" in a homosexual relationship; and in fact, it can be argued that promotion of an individual's happiness can better the species (despite the fact they're unable to breed). The "a species can't be furthered via homosexual sex!" is getting old and stale.Who are we trying to kid with that argument??Are population levels really in danger of decreasing?!Of course not.Heterosexuals are bumping uglies at ridiculous rates, and breeding likewise.I don't think this has a thing to do with beliefs or levels of acceptance.Regurgitating nonsense about "tolerance" vs. "acceptance" and then using the seemingly foolproof "you just want me to change my beliefs!" scapegoat doesn't work with this. You can believe Homosexuality to be immoral and still recognize the REALITY that it is a naturally occurring phenomena amongst our population. The fact that it naturally happens does not imply you have to like it.Moral opposition doesn't factor in to naturalistic realities.Other animals engage in homosexual acts, and up to ten percent of our population consistently has a homosexual preference -- your ethical perspective of these things?are just that, perspectives.
