| tolerance??A disposition to allow freedom of choice and behavioracceptanceFavorable reception; approval; favor.Now then kiddies, do we have the two terms clear?There seems to be a lot of argument about homosexuality here on the internet as of late and the majority of arguing comes from people that do not seem to understand the difference between tolerance and acceptance.Allow me to offer an example:I think fat chicks that wear spandex are disgusting.Seriously, they gross me the fuck out and I would prefer to never have to see their rolls of doughy flesh magnified in skin tight shiny material.I tolerate them.Meaning I do not go out of my way to deny them the right to buy clothes that look like shit on them.I am not going to go beat them up for wearing spandex or physically harm them in any manner.I do NOT ACCEPT them though.I do not approve of their fashion choice and as such I am going to scoff a bit and most likely shoot disapproving looks at them from time to time.They in turn have to tolerate my nasty looks and scoffing but they do not have to accept it.Are you following?For some, I doubt it.I am going to raise my kids in such a manner as to know how to have some fashion sense and I do not want them thinking that fat chicks in spandex are hot or that that fashion choice is acceptable in my home.I won't teach them to hate them, to treat them poorly, to harm them but I am also going to make it?quite clear that the fashion faux?pas of spandex isn't allowed in my home and is not something I find acceptable.Now, on to pillow biting butt pirates... what..you think that's offensive?Ok, let me break something down to?you nice and slow... we all have been made fun of at one point or another.Had our feelings hurt, and most likely were bullied for some reason or another.However, there is nothing in the constitution or the Bill of Rights that says you have a right to not be offended.As a matter of fact, multiple precedents set in court rooms across the country state exactly the opposite. |
| As a matter of fact, multiple precedents set in court rooms across the country state exactly the opposite.I have EVERY right to offend you.Don't like it?Kill yourself because this world is not a nice place and if you can't deal with someone calling you a name then you should just save yourself the suffering and the rest of us from having to listen to your incessant whining and get it over with.Now, before you get all bent, this goes for fat people, skinny people, religious people, non-religious people, gay people, straight people, white people, black people... do you get the picture yet???????Don't act as if you are innocent either.My gay friends are some of the biggest and most judgmental bitches I have ever know.I love this about them but it's something most other people are not?too fond of cause they can get down right brutal.You have never been properly told off until you have had a 6'3 man that is prettier than your girlfriend put you in your place and that's a fact.My point is that people want to push this issue of tolerance and I am ok with that.I believe in equal rights for ALL people but it has gone beyond that point anymore.Now people are trying to force acceptance and FUCK YOU for trying.Who the hell do you think you are to attempt to tell me what my morals should be and what I should find acceptable?Who are you to trample on my right to offend others and insist on special protections for the tissue paper feelings of homosexuals?And while we are at it, who the hell do you think you are pigeon holing all homosexuals into this category of necessitating defense more than anyone else?I know several that are quite offended that others speak on their behalf and implement this victim mentality just as is done to so many other minorities.You tell ME to treat them like anyone else?Take your own words to heart because everyone else has to deal with name calling and nasty looks and someone being an asshole and hurting their feelings.THAT my darlings is LIFE.Expecting tolerance is ok by me. Expecting equal rights for all couples that share their lives and finances is fine by me because we turned marriage into a legal institution long ago and we can't take that back now.Expecting me to ACCEPT something that goes against my faith and belief system is NOT ok by me. It's makes you the one infringing upon MY rights and it makes you the bigot.While we're on the topic, why don't you let gay people speak for themselves and stop masking pity by calling it compassion because pitying someone just because of who they choose to sleep with again makes YOU the bigot and you don't even see it.As you sat pointing your finger you should have been looking in the mirror.But THAT might have been too much to ask cause for all I know you crammed your fat ass into spandex this morning and can't deal with what you might see reflected back. |
